In a world that had no leaders

by: C. George 09/17/24

The disarray and turmoil of struggles for dominance I witnessed, left the following generations, stumbling to find each one’s place.

Left with no direction and 10,000 causes and each cause leading in 10,000 directions.

Blamed for every mistake as we just held on for dear life, attempting to make sense of it all while climbing from the darkness.

To heal and develop healthy habits while our path studied and critically scrutinized by social platforms.

To find answers when no questions were asked, but solutions expected.

To have no voice but told we are exceedingly loud each time we spoke.

With blood and tears and shadows with fears.

To run as fast and as far, bearing our wounds with a still bleeding scar.

That wound of our hearts with attachment to dreams and memories, leaving no room for aspirations and depleted motivations.

How dark a world, through the eyes of a torn generation.

A glimmer of light and cry of desperation.

We picked ourselves up with so many of us gone.

We pushed on knowing we’d never see them again.

When suddenly our flesh within and about felt warmth for the first time.

Twas never the sun did not shine…but we were simply blind.

So lost and now found.

With our victory in sight, yet all loved ones nowhere around.

We looked within to find our heartbeat, was the blessing making loves sound.

To the mother I never had…I made it.

I hope this makes you glad.
