Thank you for this lovely wisdom and how you put things into perspective. I was able to chuckle at some of your examples because I have been there or done that. Love how you are able to make it so relatable with such ease. I needed this reminder, especially because I am a list maker. I needed the reminder to bring in ceremony as I do all the maintenance stuff. I too have shifted doing the dishes in the morning, taking time to look out the window at all the birds in the bush, puffed up staying warm in the cold. Itβs calming as I slowly wash the dishes. Brushing my teeth will look differently today. π Thanks again for this lovely perspective and wisdom nugget. β€οΈπ€
Yay! Love that this perspective was helpful; it is so easy to forget about the ceremony of maintenance, and how we are caring for things that bring ease or beauty or function into our lives. May each dish bring and repetitive task you more peace and connect you to your heart and the beauty around you
I love this reframe, and I think it sunk in deeper this time- I think I've read it before. I am a list person and its a good reminder to do maintenance with gratitude. When I brush my teeth I try to say my current mantras and practice balance.
Thank you for your post! Water can be used in self care. Sitting in a bath of Epsom salts or water infused with essential oils can be so soothing for the body, mind, and soul!
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain what maintenance looks like and feels like. I have struggled with applying self cares principles to my daily life because I find most people talk about it so abstractly. This is really clarifying for me.
