Bingo Love Lullabies, Sacred Rage Bingo. Oh, and a Giveaway. And Poetry.
Heart holding, heart breaking, heart mending and a mini sweepstakes of love
Long ago a partner and I went to a retreat where we were asked to do a simple, but challenging, exercise. We were guided to sit across from one another and gaze into each others eyes without speaking.
Then when we felt our minds quiet and our hearts connect we were to say one word to each other:
Bingo.
Sometimes one of us said bingo, sometimes the other. As we sat together —breathing into our hearts, being present with each other, waiting — our bingo's started happening at the same time, and with more frequency.
Bingo.
Bingo.
Bingo.
I learned that day that those moments of connection, of heart-centered meeting of another can be cultivated. And that it is up to us to set the stage to make more bingo happen.
Today, and all days, I wish you more “bingo” moments.
More bingo with yourself. More bingo with others. More bingo with the trees and sky and waters and earth.
We all need more bingo.
Because it is those moments of connection with another being — animal, human, plant, or mineral — that we find the love that gives us courage.
In today’s post I’m sharing:

• One sacred rage bingo practice
• My mini-sweepstakes/giveaway of cool stuff I made to raise money for land restoration post wild-fire
• March 8th Warrior Goddess Courage pay-what-you-can webinar
• Two Spotify play lists: Fierce Love Lullabies and Sacred Rage Love Fire
• Videos of me sharing my new favorite poem I recently memorized: The Reddest Red by Z.R. Ghani
One of the things that I love about Valentine’s Day is all the HEARTS! It is not just a day for relationships, but a day for LOVE. Yes, I know Valentine’s day is a made up Hallmark holiday. But let’s claim it as a day to love fiercely. And love means both sweet bingo moments and also the sweet rage of protecting what we love bingo.
Here are two self-love valentine practices for anyone:
whether you are single, partnered, heart-broken, or newly in love.
I’m also including a bonus sacred rage practice for those of us who are struggling with the current dishevelment and chaos and heartbreak in the United States and need to hone and focus our fire. It is valid to feel angry, hopeless, destructive, and/or fearful. Let’s alchemize the emotions into creative action and fuel for change.
Self-Love Bingo
Each morning look at yourself in the mirror. Set a timer for one to three minutes. Look into your own eyes and practice saying a simple “Hello.” Don't try and force anything. Let any emotions arise. Feel uncomfortable. But keep looking at yourself each morning until you can find your bingo: a moment when your heart opens to yourself and you feel that awe and connection and joy of self-love. This may take one day or 3 months. Stay with it.
Once you can find your bingo in the mirror, practice finding more bingo moments throughout the day: bingo with nature, bingo with your kids, bingo with a meal.
Bingo Cards
I introduced this idea at the beginning of the year and want to share them again.
Create a self-love bingo card!
Start by listing out 24 things that are a form of self-love from you to you.
Then you can use this Canva template to create your own self-love bingo card, or write them down in a grid on a piece of paper.

Here is my self-care bingo card that I started in January:
Print yours out and place it on your fridge. Cross things out as you complete them. Bingo!
Sacred Rage Bingo *
* this practice is not for everyone… skip if it feels too triggering or doesn’t resonate!
Use your phone to record yourself throwing a verbal tantrum. You are never going to share this recording, and it will be erased after this exercise.
First, think of something you are furious about. Political, personal, planetary… you can find one thing and then see what else arises.
Give yourself permission to speak unfiltered. You can yell, you can whisper, you can cry, you can growl. You might want to do this in your car, or at home after the kids go to school. Set a safe space for yourself. Then hit record and roar. Use your body. Act things out. Don’t edit yourself. See how pissed, petty, and perturbed you can be.
When you feel complete stop the recording and put one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Feel the energy moving through your body. Do your best to release the story and just feel the emotions. Let them flow. This is your energy, your vitality, your power. Breathe into it.
Roar.
Get up and shake yourself from head to toe. Shake, shake, shake. Move your hips, move your arms, jump up and down.
Then press play and listen to your tantrum. As you listen really open your heart to yourself. Feel all the sacred rage of people who have fought for freedom, struggled to express themselves, been repressed or hurt or betrayed. Feel the pure heat and fire of rage as a call to action.
There might be grief, or fear. Keep allowing the feelings to move through you.
Within the rage is your power, pure and true. Keep shedding the story to claim the red hot center of your bravery and creative vitality.
Keep listening to the tantrum until you feel a sacred rage bingo: a place where you feel your power, pure and true. Keep shedding the story to claim the red hot center of your bravery and creative vitality. Bingo. Bingo. Bingo.
This exercise will help you transmute rage into conscious, clear action, so you don’t use the energy against yourself or throw it out onto others unconsciously.
Giveaway Sweepstakes: A Valentine for the Earth
Part of my self-care/self-love practice has been getting back into pottery. I've been saying for (yikes) decades now that I wanted to start working with clay again. In January I found a ceramics studio in Kingston, about 20 minutes from where I'm staying. I’ve been taking classes and I bought a membership for two months. I can use as much clay as I want, the studio is open 24/7, and I'm learning how to throw bowls on the wheel and create hand-built shrines. I'm in bliss. It is a form of intimacy with a medium that I've always loved.
To celebrate I’m doing a weird and wonderful thing: a sweepstake to raise money for the land restoration project I’ll be spearheading this spring up at Warrior Heart Ranch, our wilderness retreat center outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. As you may have read about in earlier posts we were devastated by a huge fire in May 2022, where we lost 175 of our 180 acres of forest. I’ll write more about it in future posts.
This “sweepstake” is through our nonprofit 501(c)(3), Center for Creative Intent. Basically we are going to create large protected circles where we can plant and nurture wildflowers, grasses, and trees in the worst of the burn scar. Within these fenced circles (to keep the deer out as the trees mature) we will build portable rainwater collection and watering systems. Each circle will cost approximately $2000 to set up.
This fundraiser will be for one circle. Sign up, donate if you want, and you might win cool stuff I made, including a hand-built ceramic shine, prayer bowls, two hand-knit scarves, a private session with me. You also be entered for a chance to win my nine-month online program that starts in March, Journey of the Nine Moons.
Check it out here:
You can donate to win one of multiple prizes, or email us to be added to the sweepstakes for free. No purchase necessary; all donations very welcome. Bingo.

Two playlists for you:

I’ve taken three poetry memorization courses with my friend Matthew Stillman, and the most recent series was inspired by the color red. Here is a poem that I memorized last week: a wild everythingness goddess poem. (Learn more about Matthew’s next poetry memorization course here; truly I cannot recommend this class enough. It was life-changing and affirming for me. Having poetry to focus on and roll around in your being is a delightful thing.)
